Connect OntoRamp to Perplexity

Add OntoRamp as a custom remote connector in Perplexity.

Requires a paid Perplexity plan (Pro, Max, or Enterprise).

Before you start

You need an OntoRamp API key — get one free at ontoramp.com/mcp. Keys arrive by email within 60 seconds and are passed as a Bearer token in the Authorization header: Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. If your tool asks for an API key directly, paste just the key — the header is added for you.

Setup

Each server in the table above is its own connection — repeat the setup (or add another config entry) for each one you want.

  1. 1.In Perplexity, go to Settings → Connectors (perplexity.ai/account/connectors).
  2. 2.Click + Custom connector in the top-right corner.
  3. 3.Enter a Name and paste the OntoRamp server URL into MCP server URL.
  4. 4.Expand Advanced, set Authentication to API Key, paste your OntoRamp key, and leave Transport on Streamable HTTP.
  5. 5.Check the acknowledgement box and click Add — the connector appears in your connector list, enabled.

Custom connectors run in Perplexity Computer tasks. If a regular search answers without calling OntoRamp, re-run the question as a Computer task (or click “Run task” on the answer).

In an Enterprise workspace, non-admin members can add custom connectors only if an admin turns on “Allow members to add custom connectors” (off by default).
