Read this before acting on any verdict

OntoRamp's services produce verdicts, assessments, scores, recommendations, and remediation paths about governance posture, decision quality, AI architecture safety, and related subject matter (collectively, "Verdicts"). This disclaimer tells you what Verdicts are — and what they are not — so you can use them safely.

1. Verdicts are advisory only

Verdicts are advisory, informational outputs of an AI-assisted system. They are not:

  • legal advice
  • financial advice
  • medical or clinical advice
  • regulatory or compliance determinations
  • professional certifications or attestations
  • guarantees of conformance with any standard or law
  • substitutes for qualified human judgment

Treat every Verdict as one input among many — not as a final answer.

2. You make the decisions

OntoRamp does not make decisions for you. We provide structured analysis and recommendations; you decide what to do with them. The party acting on a Verdict is responsible for:

  • evaluating whether the Verdict applies to their specific situation;
  • validating the Verdict against their own knowledge, governance standards, regulatory requirements, professional advice, and any other applicable context; and
  • making the final decision, including any decision to act, decline to act, or seek further input.

3. High-stakes decisions require independent qualified-human review

You agree not to use Verdicts as the sole or primary basis for any of the following classes of decision without independent review by a qualified human professional:

  • Consumer financial decisions — loan approval, credit determinations, insurance underwriting, claims handling, or other regulated financial outcomes
  • Employment decisions — hiring, firing, promotion, compensation, performance evaluation, or other workforce determinations
  • Medical decisions — diagnosis, treatment selection, care prioritization, or any clinical determination
  • Criminal-justice decisions — sentencing, parole, bail, risk assessment, or law-enforcement deployment
  • Access to essential services — housing, education, public benefits, utilities, or critical infrastructure
  • Determinations regulated as "high-risk" under applicable AI law, including (but not limited to) systems classified as high-risk under the EU AI Act, the UK's emerging AI regulatory framework, or comparable laws in other jurisdictions

For decisions in these categories, a qualified human professional must independently review the underlying facts and reach their own determination. The Verdict can inform that review; it cannot replace it.

4. Disclaimer of warranty

Verdicts are provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OntoRamp disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of:

  • merchantability
  • fitness for a particular purpose
  • accuracy or completeness
  • non-infringement
  • continuous availability
  • error-free operation

We do not warrant that any Verdict is correct, complete, current, or suitable for your purpose, or that the underlying scoring algorithms will remain unchanged.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OntoRamp shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, business, goodwill, or anticipated savings — arising from or related to your use of any Verdict, even if OntoRamp has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

OntoRamp's aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or related to Verdicts is limited to the greater of:

(a) the total fees paid by you to OntoRamp in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or
(b) one hundred United States dollars (US $100).

This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law (which, in some jurisdictions, includes liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or violations of mandatory consumer-protection law).

6. EU and UK consumer carve-outs

If you are a consumer (a natural person acting outside trade, business, or profession) located in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom: nothing in this Disclaimer limits or excludes any rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law. The disclaimers and limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by such law. Where local law provides stronger protections, those protections apply.

This includes, where applicable:

  • the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU)
  • the EU Sale of Goods and Digital Content Directives (2019/770/EU and 2019/771/EU)
  • UK consumer-protection legislation, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015

7. Where this Disclaimer applies

This Disclaimer applies wherever Verdicts are surfaced, including:

  • through the OntoRamp API (in response payloads, including the advisory: true flag and the disclaimer_url reference);
  • in the OntoRamp Lens user interface (verdict cards, footers, email notifications, exports);
  • in any report, export, or downstream artifact derived from Verdicts (PDFs, CSVs, dashboards, embeddings).

If you redistribute, embed, or surface Verdicts in your own product, you must preserve the advisory framing and ensure your downstream consumers see this Disclaimer or an equivalent.

8. Relationship to other documents

This Disclaimer is incorporated into, and forms part of, OntoRamp's Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service. In case of conflict between this Disclaimer and the Terms of Service with respect to Verdicts, this Disclaimer controls.

9. Plain English

Verdicts are tools, not judgments. They give you structured analysis to inform your decisions; they do not make decisions for you. For anything important — and especially for decisions that affect people's livelihoods, health, freedom, or access to essential services — pair every Verdict with qualified human review.
